Meet Gary L. Wyeno Au. D., FAAA
Gary L. Wyeno Au.D. Doctor of Audiology earned his B.A and M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado in 1972 and 1973 respectively. In 2009 he earned his Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences/ Arizona School of Health Sciences. He began practicing in 1973 joining the staff of Foote ear nose and throat Clinic and Educational service unit # 9, Hastings, NE. The job was ½ time at the ear, nose and clinic and ½ time with ESU#9. At that time he was the only audiologist between Lincoln, NE and Denver Co. to his knowledge. He developed both positions to full time in 2 years and then went full time with Drs. Foote and Beck and stayed on as a supervisor for ESU #9. He has supervised over a half dozen Audiologists working on their Clinical Fellowship year for ASHA.
He was appointed to the Nebraska board of hearing aid dispensers and fitters in 2000 and served 12 years on that board the majority of years a chairperson. He was also on the committee that helped establish licensing for Audiology in Nebraska and also helped to establish the Sertoma hearing aid bank in Nebraska. He is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. He enjoys coaching youth sports and has been the commissioner and coach for youth football, YMCA board member and coach for youth basketball, soccer, and wrestling, and coach for American legion youth baseball and USSSA traveling baseball. He also enjoys playing slow pitch softball and singing in the church choir. He and his wife Jane have three grown children and enjoy following all the sports and fine arts activities of their 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
